Get the CloakwireX Sensor
iPhone can't list the Wi‑Fi networks around you — Apple blocks it. The free CloakwireX Sensor runs on a Windows, Mac or Linux computer on the same network and lets your phone see every nearby network (name, signal, security) and fill in device MAC addresses. It runs on your own computer, talks only to your phone, and needs no account.

Set it up on your computer
🪟 Windows — nothing to install
- Download the Windows version above and unzip it (right‑click → Extract All).
- Open the folder and double‑click "Start CloakwireX Sensor".
- If Windows shows a blue "protected your PC" box, click More info → Run anyway. It isn't code‑signed yet, so Windows warns the first time — you can verify the download with the checksum below.
- A window opens with an Address and a Code — keep it open and pair your phone (below).
🍎 macOS
- Unzip, then double‑click
start-sensor.command (Python 3 ships with macOS).
- For Wi‑Fi names on Mac, use the native CloakwireX Sensor app if you have it — the command‑line scan needs Location access Apple restricts.
🐧 Linux
- Make sure you have
python3 and NetworkManager (nmcli): sudo apt install python3 network-manager.
- Unzip, then run
./start-sensor.sh (or python3 cloakwirex_sensor.py).
Pair your iPhone
On the phone: Details → Advanced tools → Nearby Wi‑Fi (Sensor) → Add Sensor → "Enter manually", then type the Address and Code the Sensor window shows (e.g. 192.168.1.50:8787 and ABCD‑EFGH‑IJKL‑MNOP). Your phone and the computer must be on the same Wi‑Fi.
Straight talk
- • The Sensor serves only devices on your local network that have your pairing code, refuses requests from web pages, and opens nothing to the internet. It stops on its own after about an hour idle.
- • It reads nearby Wi‑Fi and your computer's ARP table (device IP↔MAC). It keeps no record of what it scans and has no account — the only thing saved is your pairing code, on your own computer.
- • Pair on a network you trust: the link to your phone is local and not encrypted, so it's best used at home. The Windows download bundles Python inside — nothing to install — and isn't code‑signed yet, so verify it with the checksum below.
